CAN bus communication

The 8440-2116 discrete input transmits its state to the control unit via the CAN bus.

The control unit evaluates the state of these discrete inputs from ikd1 and takes the appropriate action based on the configuration of the control unit.

The 8440-2116 control unit can remotely control the output relays of the ikd1 by sending commands via the CAN bus.
