Woodward's 9907-1183 human-machine interface can be equipped with a NEMA 4X level protective casing. Although the casing is optional, it is recommended to use it as it effectively protects the electromechanical components from any permanent damage. The shell is waterproof and dustproof, suitable for harsh outdoor conditions.

The 9907-1183 model is equipped with a 32-bit microcontroller that can control various turbines, such as industrial sized standard steam turbines, multi-functional turbine generators, and turbine expander models. It can be configured as an independent device and can also operate in collaboration with the DCS (Distributed Control System) of industrial factories. The 505E controller is designed to operate the extraction and/or intake of most steam turbine systems.

The Woodward HMI has a PID structure and is very suitable for applications that require monitoring and controlling parameters such as turbine speed, load, inlet pressure, exhaust header pressure, or extraction/entry header pressure. Through the 4-20 mA sensor and PID, as well as ratio/limiter functions, the 9907-1183 can accurately control extraction/feeding while preventing the turbine from operating beyond its parameters.
