External functions of the Modicon 140CRP31200 head EIO module include leds, service ports and interconnect ports, device network ports, and a second device network port. The indicator light is located on the top front of the module. The service port (ETH1) directly under LEDI is followed by the interconnect port (ETH2). The following are ETH3 and ETH4 device network ports. In order to maintain the best operating condition of the device, use the port stopper when not in use.

These ports allow diagnostics of ports and access to external tools and devices. They provide connections to other quantum EIOs and allow V/O communication.
