The DMC-18x2 series is a PCI bus motion controller designed for the most cost-sensitive applications. The DMC-18x2 controller supports 1 to 4 axis formats and allows control of stepper or servo motors on any axis combination. Any motion mode can be programmed, including linear and circular interpolation, contour, electronic gear, and ecam. To minimize costs, the DMC-18x2 does not offer the following features: 5 to 8 axis control, optical isolation on inputs, dual encoder inputs, and auxiliary FIFO and DPRAM communication channels. If you need these features, choose the DMC-18x6 Accelera PCI controller. As with all Galil controllers, programming for the DMC-18x2 is simplified with two-letter intuitive commands and a full suite of software tools such as GDK for servo tuning and analysis.
