The NIPXIle-115(Part number :781729-04 and 781729-33) controller can be used in combination with PIExpress compatible chassis such as PXle1082 and can be used in combination with PC-compatible computers. The controller features a dual-core Intel Corei5-2510 processor, 25DGB hard drive, regular V/O, PCI-based GPIB controller, ExpressCard/4 expansion spout, parallel ports, two Gigabit Ethernet, an RS-232 serial port, and various other useful features. The board size of the NIPXIe8115 controller is a four-wide 3U PKIExpress module. This controller weighs 2.91 pounds and has one system slot and three controller expansion slots. Due to the integration of many V/0 ports, each movable slot in the chassis has access to the measurement and control modules. The NI PXle8115's structure reduces integration issues and eliminates the need for complex wiring on the daughter board.

The PXKle8115 controller features a variety of data storage capabilities, including: USB storage with floppy drive support, mass storage devices, USB CD/DVD-HROM, and 2.5-inch SATA laptop built-in hard drives. The SO-DIMM module requires a 64-bit DOR3 SORAM slot that can hold up to 8GB of memory. There is also a bracket for ExpressCard on the controller front panel. When the NIPXIe8115 controller is enabled, an ExpressCcard module can be inserted and the controller detects the card. ExpressCard usually has a mark indicating which end to install into the bracket. The card is wired to prevent inaccurate insertion. After inserting ExpressCard, the driver will load.

The PXIe-8115 maintenance status has been published by National Instruments, but Apex Waves can still purchase and service the C controller.
