Extreme Networks A4 is a highly reliable Fast Ethernet edge switch that can provide scalable wire speed performance to support bandwidth intensive and delay sensitive requirements of today's demanding applications. A4 also provides multi-layer packet classification and priority queuing for differentiated services. In addition to a switch capacity of 17.6 Gbps, A4 also offers up to 48 10/100 Ethernet ports and 4 Gigabit Ethernet uplink ports. By utilizing the stacking function of A4, up to 8 A4 can be interconnected in a single stack to create a virtual switch, providing a capacity of 140.8 Gbps and up to 384 10/100 Ethernet ports, as well as 16 Gigabit Ethernet uplink ports.
