The MVI56E ModbusTCP /IP client/server Enhanced communication module makes it easy to connect Rockwell Automation RControlLogix processors to Modicon Programmable Automation Controllers (PACs) and a wide range of ModbustCPIP-compatible instruments and devices.
Enhancements to the MVI56E include local and remote configuration and diagnostics via the module's EtherNet port, as well as CIPconnect technology for bridging over Rockwell Automation ControlNet and EtherNet/IP networks. The MVI56E-MNET and MVI56E-MNETXT are functionally identical. MVI56E-MNET is used for standard process application projects. The MVI56E-MNETXT is used for the Logix-XTTM control platform to operate in extreme environments. It withstands higher operating temperatures and has a coating that provides protection under harsh or corrosive conditions.
Backward compatibility: The MVI56E-MNETC can directly upgrade earlier MVI56-MNET modules without changing existing ladder logic programs or module configurations. Enhanced features and flexibility without high reprogramming costs.
