Analog I/O VME module is a high-speed data conversion product built on the VME/VXS platform. The module provides different high-resolution digital converters and/or generators by inserting an analog sandwich. It performs high-performance real-time processing of data via two Xilinx Virtex-4 FPGas, an SX55 for digital signal processing and an FX100 for data flow control. The module also features two on-board DDR2 SDRAM banks (up to 512 M of memory) as well as embedded flash memory that can be easily reconfigured to run user-defined application software. In addition, the module integrates an analog data converter layer for ADC, DAC and signal conditioning components, and a Virtex-5 FPGA for dynamic correction of signals on the sandwich card.
