The 57C554 is an AutoMax Remote I/O Shark interface module. The module was originally made by Reliance Electric and may have been made by ABB and Baldor Reliance at one point. This card is no longer produced and can be a bit difficult to find. AX Control does make every effort to ensure that it remains in stock as a refurbished or new surplus. This module can also be found under Part number 0-57554.
The 57C554 is used to connect the Shark Remote rack to the AutoMax remote I/O network. It can be connected to the backplane of the Shark remote rack using a built-in microprocessor that helps with basic buffering circuitry and timing.
