The SCXI 1120D can also be used with Lab-NB, Lab-LC, Lab-PC and PC-LPM-16/PnP devices. However, none of these devices can scan the module when the module is configured in multiplexed output mode. If the SCXI-1120D is used with a shielded terminal, the added screw terminal ensures that the signal is easily connected to the module.
Another useful use of the NI SCXI-1120D is as a fast scan signal regulator for applications such as production testing, laboratory testing, and industrial process monitoring. Each input channel on the SCXI-1120D has two gain stages that can be configured by the user. The first gain stage provides gains of 1, 5, 10, 50 and 100. On the other hand, the second gain stage provides gains of 1, 2, 5, 10, and 20. In addition, the NI SCXI-1120D has a fixed forestage gain of 0.5.
