The DC coupler has 8 analog input channels. It provides every function that users need for direct or more complex strain and bridge sensor measurement. One of these features is the ability to read signals from strain, load, force, torque and pressure sensors. Another beneficial feature of the module is the ability to automatically calibrate under changing conditions. There is also a programmable amplifier and a programmable 4-pole Butterworth filter on each channel to provide accurate strain measurement. The 4-pole Butterworth filter provides a sharp cutoff to block noise while maintaining the highest flatness in the passband. The SCXI-1520 also has a separate 0 to 10 V programmable excitation source per channel with telemetry capabilities per channel.
