RT8231集成了一个同步 Buck 架构的 PWM 控制器、一个具有 1.5A 电流吐纳能力的追踪型线性稳压器和有缓冲的低噪声参考源，可为 DDR2/DDR3/DDR3L/LPDDR3/DDR4/LPDDR4 内存系统提供完整的电源供应。

PWM 控制器具有低电流消耗、高效率、卓越的瞬态回应和高输出精度等特性，可用于笔记本电脑将电池高压转换为低压为内存系统供电。该控制器采用固定导通时间的 PWM 控制架构，可以在极宽 VIN/VOUT 比的情况下工作，使用方便，面对负载瞬变时具有快达 100ns 的“实时”响应能力，同时保持基本固定的工作频率。

由于省略了传统的电流模式 PWM 控制器中常见的电流检测电阻，RT8231 在降低了成本的情况下，还能获得更高的效率。由于具有驱动大型同步整流 MOSFET 开关的能力，转换效率也得到了进一步提高，使得该转换器可以极高的效率直接从电池取电为系统供电。

T8231 具有 1.5A 电流吐纳能力的低压差线性稳压器具有快速的瞬态响应能力，只需使用 10μF 的陶瓷输出电容即可保持稳定工作。它还可以使用外来的电源输入，因而可以最大化地降低总的功率损耗。

RT8231A/B 支持所有的睡眠状态控制方法，可在 S3 期间将 VTT 置于高阻状态，在 S4/S5 期间对 VDDQ、VTT 和 VTTREF 进行放电操作（软关机）。

RT8231 具有 OVP、UVP 和热关机等保护特性，其封装为 WQFN-20L 3x3。

With low current consumption, high efficiency, excellent transient response and high output accuracy, PWM controllers can be used in notebook computers to convert battery high voltage to low voltage to power memory systems. The controller uses a fixed on-time PWM control architecture, can operate in extremely wide VIN/VOUT ratio, easy to use, and has a "real-time" response capability of up to 100ns in the face of load transients, while maintaining a basically fixed operating frequency.

By omitting the current detection resistors commonly found in traditional current-mode PWM controllers, the RT8231 achieves higher efficiency at a reduced cost. The conversion efficiency has also been further improved due to the ability to drive large synchronous rectified MOSFET switches, allowing the converter to power the system directly from the battery with extremely high efficiency.

The T8231 low voltage differential linear regulator with 1.5A current uptake capability has fast transient response and only needs 10μF ceramic output capacitance to maintain stable operation. It can also use an external power input, thus minimizing the total power loss.

The RT8231A/B supports all sleep state control methods, putting the VTT in a high resistance state during S3 and discharging the VDDQ, VTT and VTTREF during S4/S5 (soft shutdown).

The RT8231 has protection features such as OVP, UVP and hot shutdown and is packaged as WQFN-20L 3x3.
