Type VMIVME-3126A

The VMIVME-3126A module, part of a large number of converter boards, was designed and developed by General Electric's automation division and then produced by Abaco Systems. The device is part of the Advanced family of products, a suite of high-resolution, fully isolated analog-to-digital converter (ADC) boards.

The VMIVME-3126A model includes many of the standard features of these units. These models integrate a set of 16 isolated analog inputs, each with 16-bit resolution. Each of these inputs is equipped with a dedicated analog-to-digital converter. Input conditioning, reference voltage sources, and power reservoir are also available for these inputs.

The VMIVME-3126A is equipped with channels that are fully isolated from the VMEbus unit and embedded digital circuitry via optical isolators. The self-test and analysis functions of the module are initiated by the VMEbus system reset or by the user executing a software command.

The VMIVME-3126A integrates a digital signal processor module (DSP) to provide the ability to control and manage software correction data. The unit also has memory formatted as electronically erasable programmable read-only memory (E2PROM), which is capable of loading offset and gain coefficients into the digital signal processor under system reset conditions.
