GE Multilin's generator management relays are best suited for applications that require the management and protection of synchronous and induction generators. The 489-P1-HI-A20-E model is just one of the models available for these applications. This relay is also distinguished from other relays in the 489 generator management relay family by different code characters, for example, the P1 code on this relay represents the input phase current, which is a one-amp phase CT secondary. The E at the end of this model indicates the type of display on the front panel, which is an enhanced display for a larger LCD screen. Trip and alarm protection are the main types of protection available on 489-P1-HI-A20-E relays.
