The DS3800HPIB is part of the General Electric (GE) Speedtronic Mark IV line. The DS3800HPIB is a large circuit board with 8 connection terminals that vary in size along the sides of the board. There is a small red square in the bottom left corner with a toggle switch on it. The DS3800HPIB has about 50 small sky blue diodes. The DS3800HPIB also has about six silver diodes. The DS3800HPIB also has a mix of about 45 EPROMs and EEPROMs. EPROM and eeprom store all the programming for the board to efficiently perform its tasks. eprom can be reprogrammed/updated as needed. But the EEPROM cannot be modified. The DS3800HPIB has eight bar capacitors, each connected to the board with 10 jacks. These capacitors are golden yellow. The DS3800HPIB also features 36 leds or light-emitting diodes. These led lights light up at different times as the energy current flows through the board and is programmed as necessary. The DS3800HPIB also has about 45 resistors. The resistor is small and light blue in color. Each resistor has a unique ribbon pattern of various colors. These colored stripes represent the number of ohms that each resistor can handle. Each piece on the DS3800HPIB is labeled with an alphanumeric combination. The General Electric (GE) seal also appears on the board along with the part number DS3800HPIB.
