The IS200VPROH2B-IS200VPROH1BEF is a PCB component provided by GE for the Mark VI system. MKVI is a gas and steam turbine management system released by GE and is part of the Speedtronic product line that GE has been developing for more than 40 years, beginning with MKI.


The IS200VPROH2B-IS200VPROH1BEF functions as an emergency turbine protection board. Together with the TPRO and TREG boards, the IS200VPROH2B is a standalone overspeed protection system for the Mark VI system. This consists of three VPRO boards (triple redundant) that control the travel solenoid via the TREG board in a module that is separate from the turbine control system. The IS200VPROH2B features 9 thermocouple inputs for exhaust overtemperature protection, as well as 3 analog current inputs and backup sync check protection.

Turbine protection panels, such as IS215VPROH2B, are an emergency turbine protection panel developed by GE. Together with the accompanying terminal boards, such as TPRO and TREG, this protection plate forms an independent emergency overspeed protection system. The protection system consists of three redundant VPRO boards located in a separate module from the turbine control system. This system uses the TREG to adjust the trip solenoid valve. In addition, the VPRO has an Ethernet connection for IONet communication with the control module.

IS200VPROH2B-IS200VPROH1BEF Emergency trip function is provided by the VPRO board in the protection module P. Up to three trip solenoid valves can be connected between the TREG and TRPG terminal boards. The TREG supplies the positive side of the 125V DC power supply to the solenoid, while the TRPG supplies the negative side. This means that the turbine can trip through either plate. The VPRO board mainly provides emergency overspeed protection and emergency stop functions to ensure the safe operation of the turbine.
