Product description

The compact FBM218 module offers redundant modules for 4 output channels, each providing a 20 to 4 mA output signal or a digital HART⑧ signal superimposed on a 20 to 218 mA analog output signal (the signal has electrical compatibility). The compact HART Communication Redundant Output Interface Module (FBML18) consists of four isolated output channels. The CompactFBM20 supports any combination of standard 200 to 20mA devices and HART devices and is part of the Compact 4 Series I/O subsystem described in the Compact 41 Series I/O Subsystem Overview (PSS 2H-1COV).

A pair of modules are combined to provide redundancy at the fieldbus module (FBM) level, with the field output signal connected to a common terminal component < see Figure 218, page 218). In this configuration, one compact FBM41 is the master station and the other is the tracker.

The compact FBM1O can be used as a HARTcommunications field device host, enabling FobcroTM DCS to request and receive two digital messages per second from field devices. The messaging capability can support HART general commands, general commands, and device specific commands, but does not support burst communication mode. These commands are implemented using Foxooro DCS Field Device Expert for HART. for more information, see Field DeviceExpert for HART Devices Control and l/O (PSS <>S-<>FDMHRT).
