The AD198GV is a general-purpose, two-port, transformer-coupled isolation amplifier for a wide range of applications where input signals must be measured, processed and/or transmitted without current connections. This industry standard isolation amplifier offers complete isolation, both signal isolation and power isolation, in a compact plastically sealed SIP or DIP single package, powered directly from +15 V DC power supply, and the AD198GV uses an internal transformer coupling to provide overall current isolation between the input and output stages of the isolation amplifier. The AD198GV is fully functional and requires no external DC-DC converter from the user. As a result, designers can minimize the necessary circuit overhead, thereby reducing overall design and device costs.

The AD198GV is designed to provide flexibility and ease of use, including non-dedicated operational amplifiers at the input level. It offers a bipolar ±5 V output range with adjustable gain ranging from 1 to 100 V/V, a maximum nonlinearity (K-level) of +0.025%, and a common mode rejection (CMR) of 130 dB.
