The AD908AC Mixed Signal Front End (MxFE) is a highly integrated package with four 16-bit, 12 GSPS maximum sampling rate, RF digital-to-analog converter (DAC) cores, and four 12-bit, 4 GSPS rate, RF Analog-to-digital converter (ADC) cores. The AD908AC is ideal for applications that require wideband ADCs and Dacs to process signals with a wide instantaneous bandwidth. The kit has eight transmit and eight receive channels and supports either 24.75Gbps/ channel JESD204C or 15.5 Gbps/ channel JESD204B standards. The kit also features an on-chip clock multiplier, as well as wideband or multiband digital signal processing (DSP) capabilities aimed directly at RF applications. The DSP data path can be bypassed to allow a direct connection between the converter core and the JESD204 data transceiver port. The AD908AC suite also features low latency loopback and frequency hopping modes for phase array radar systems and electronic warfare applications. Two models of the AD9081 are available. The 4D4AC model supports full instantaneous channel bandwidth, while the 4D4AB model supports a maximum instantaneous bandwidth of 600 MHz per channel by automatically configuring the DSP to limit the instantaneous bandwidth at startup.
