The compact FBM240-P0917GZ is an 8-channel input and 8-channel output FoxboroTm DCSFieldbus module (FBM), available as a single or redundant module. A combination of a pair of redundant modules provides redundancy at the FBM level, with field I/0 connected to a common terminal component (see Figure 1). Each module independently keeps the output at its specified output value. And each reads its observed output value independently.

FBM240-P0917GZ This module is part of the Compact200 Series I/O subsystem described in the Compact200 Series I/O Subsystem Overview (PSS 41H-2COV).

Redundant contact output blocks in the control software verify that each output is combined with the information input/output of the module.

Eight discrete inputs read the voltage through relay contacts. If the state of the contact is inconsistent with the state of the corresponding output channel, set the channel BAD

Monitor each FBM output and set the output channel bad if the output is in the wrong state

The Terminal Assembly (TAs) is used for local or remote connection of field cabling to the compact FBM240

Note: Support for this termination component and the new fail-safe configuration option, the fail-safe described on page 6 requires firmware version 1.40N or later.
