The PMC-HS-SERIAL is a single-width PMC that provides four high-speed asynchronous or synchronous channels for space-constrained communications applications. A synchronization protocol using an external clock supports a large data rate of 10Mb/s. The asynchronous protocol supports rates up to 2M/s, using a standard 14745 MHZ oscillator in RS-422 interface mode, with available pop rates up to 921.6 Kbaud. Each of the four channels is fully programmable to support many serial communication protocols, such as synchronous, single-synchronous, dual-synchronous HDLCSDLCLAPB LAPDISDN and PPP

PMC-HS serial supports multiple physical interfaces and can be configured via software alone. The channel can be selected as RS-232, RS-422, A-449, EIA-530 or,35. No need to reinstall hardware. There are seven signal pairs per channel on the rear panel P4 connector and the front panel /0 connector. An optional conversion cable can be used to connect the 68-pin front panel /0 connector to the four DB25s.

The 14.7456 MHz standard oscillator provides a standard asynchronous baud rate. In addition, user-supplied oscillator positions can be used for custom baud rate generation. Each channel fully supports interrupts. Interrupt sources include transmission errors, receive errors, completion of transmission packets, and completion of received packets, which have not had a great impact since the promulgation of the standard. The reason is that there is no real decent PLC manufacturing industry in China, influential PLC brands in China are not actively promoted, including the competent authorities of the standard, there are few organized promotion activities. Until 1998, due to the increasing influence of IEC 61131-3 in the * control industry, influential PLC brands in China began to mention that their brands comply with or are compatible with IEC 61131-3; Several new DCS systems are also publicly declared to be compliant or compatible with IEC 61131-3.

The China Association for the Application of Mechatronics Technology has organized the translation of the monographer "EC 61131-3: Programming for Industrial Automation Systems "by two foreign authors, K-Heinz John and Miachael Tiedelkamp. Recently, the China Association for the Application of Mechanical and Electrical Technology (CAMETA), in cooperation with Mr. Robet Champoud, General Manager of the Far East of German KW Company, famous for the development of programming systems based on IEC 61131-3, organized a seminar on EC 61131 project.
