The 149369-01 Key phaser module is a half-height, dual-channel module for providing Keyphasor signals to the monitoring module in the 3500 rack. It receives an input signal from a proximity detector or magnetic pickup, converts the signal into a digital critical phase signal, indicating when the critical phasor mark on the axis coincides with the critical phasor transducer. The 3500 mechanical protection system can accept up to four critical phase signals in normal configurations and up to eight Keyphasor signal pairing configurations.

In the 3500 rack, the TDI is located in the slot next to the power supply. It interacts with M-series monitors (3500/40M, 3500/42M, etc.) in order to continuously collect steady-state and transient dynamic (waveform) data and transmit this data to the host software over an Ethernet link.

TDI has traditional static data collection capabilities. However, TDI can also enable the disk to record dynamic, high-resolution transient data using an optional channel. Function description

The 3500 rack contains the communication processing capabilities of TDI. While TDI performs some tasks shared by the entire rack, it is not a critical component of the monitoring system and is not relevant to how well the entire system monitors autonomous mechanical protection.

It is used to switch 3500 racks between "RUN" and "PROGRAM" modes. RUN mode prevents configuration modifications while allowing the rack to run properly. The rack can be configured locally or remotely while still operating in PROGRAM mode. The switch can be kept in the running or programmed position by unplugging the key from any location on the rack. You can prevent unnecessary rack reconfiguration by locking the switch in the run position. Any time you need to remotely reconfigure the rack, you can lock the switch in the PROGRAM position.

I/O module signal public end

There is now a 2-pin connector in both versions of the TDI /O module for connecting the signal common end to the single point instrument ground of the rack. After doing this, to isolate the common end of the signal from the chassis (safety) ground, slide the selector switch on the side of the power input module (PIM) in the direction of the HP arrow.
