Static data capture is standard in TDI. However, using an optional channel-enabled disk will allow TDI to also be used to capture dynamic and high-resolution transient data. The TDI integrated communication processor works well in 3500 racks.

Although TDI provides certain functions common to the entire rack, it is not part of the critical monitoring path and has no impact on the normal, normal operation of the entire monitoring system for automatic mechanical protection. Every 3500 racks requires a TDI or RIM, which always occupies slot 1 (next to the power supply).
