The GE/Bently Nevada 3500/22M Series Transient Data Interface (TDI) is an interface mechanical management software between the 3500 Monitoring System and Bently Nevada System 1. TDI combines the functions of the 3500/20 rack interface module with the data collection function of communication processors such as TDXnet.
TDI is used in conjunction with M-series monitors (3500/40M, 3500/42M, etc.) in the RIM slot of the 3500 rack to continuously collect steady-state and transient waveform data, and transmit this data to the host software through an Ethernet link. Static data capture is a standard configuration of TDI, but using optional channels to enable disks will also allow for capturing dynamic or transient data. In addition to integrating communication processor functionality in the 3500 rack, TDI has also made improvements in multiple aspects compared to previous communication processors.
TDI provides certain functions that are common to the entire rack, but it is not a part of the critical monitoring path and has no impact on the normal operation of the entire monitoring system. Each rack requires a TDI or RIM. TDI only occupies one slot in the rack and is always located at t 1 (next to the power supply) in Slo.
For Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) applications, the 3500 system requires the TMR version of TDI. In addition to all standard TDI functions, TMR TDI also has TMR TDI that performs "monitor channel comparison". The 3500 TMR configuration uses the settings specified in the monitor options to perform monitoring voting. Using this method, TMR TDI continuously compares the outputs of three (3) redundant monitors. If TMR detects that information from one of the monitors is no longer equivalent (within the configured percentage), it marks the monitor as an error and places the event in the system event list.
