The GRBTU 3BSE013175R1 ABB base module can be used in various industrial robot systems produced by ABB as a basic component of the robot controller.
The GRBTU 3BSE013175R1 standard PC/AT architecture defines two different types of address Spaces for devices and peripherals on the CPU board. These Spaces are usually named memory address Spaces and input/output address Spaces. The boundaries of these areas are limited to the number of address buses physically located on the CPU. The board VMIVME-7698 has 32 address buses on the board, thus defining the limit of address space to 4 GB.
The standard PC/AT architecture defines memory address Spaces from 0 to 4 GB and separate input/output addresses from zero to 64 KB. The ISA device on the VMIVME-7698 is booted by the BIOS and complies with the standard PC/AT architecture. They map to the input/output address space within the standard address, where the interrupt is mapped to the standard interrupt control register. However, with the exception of real-time devices, all ISA device clocks, keyboards, and programmable timers can be repositioned almost to the standard 1 KB of the input/output address space. Table D-1 defines the addresses that can be used for ISA device reconfiguration. As mentioned earlier, in a standard PC/AT system, all input/output devices are mapped to the input/output address space. However, on the VMIVME-7698, dynamic random access memory (DRAM), battery-powered SRAM, and watchdog timers are in the memory address space. The BIOS places the DRAM at address zero and extends to the physical limits of on-board DRAM.
