S800 I/O is a comprehensive distributed modular process I/O system that can communicate with parent controllers and PLCs through industry standard fieldbuses. The CI840 fieldbus communication interface (FCI) module is a configurable communication interface that can perform signal processing, collect various monitoring information, OSP processing, hot configuration during operation, HART passthrough, and I/O module configuration. CI840 is designed specifically for redundant applications. FCI is connected to the controller via PROFIBUS-DPV1 fieldbus. The module terminal unit to be used is TU846 with redundant I/O and TU847 with non redundant I/O.
