The Allen-Bradley 1746-IV16 is an SLC 500 vertical input module. With sixteen (16) source input channels, the module is ideal for connecting electrical signal devices such as switches, auxiliary contacts, sensors, and other devices that provide binary or on/off signal states.

1746-IV16 Supports power cable configuration. Typically, the input device carries the signal voltage and sends this voltage to the input module through a feed-current wiring configuration. In some cases, some electrical signal devices do not carry the input signal voltage. This is when 1746-IV16 can be used, in which the module itself provides signal voltage to the loop and then returns this input channel of the module when the device signal state changes.

Each channel of the 1746-IV16 is designed to operate at a nominal voltage of 24VDC, but accepts a voltage range of 10-30 VDC. In addition, at 24VDC, each device requires a nominal input current of 8 mA. The maximum on-state input voltage is 5.0 VDC, and the maximum off-state input current is 1 mA.
