The Allen-Bradley 1769-IT6 Thermocouple /mV input module is a compact device that measures thermocouple and millivolt signals. These measurements are digitally converted and stored as analog data in any combination of up to six thermocouples or millivolt analog sensors. Provides overrange, underrange, open circuit detection and indication.

The 1769-IT6 compact input module has 6 input channels and 2 CJC sensors. It has a Delta-Sigma converter type where the response speed per channel depends on the input filter and configuration. It communicates with the controller through the bus interface, while also receiving power from the 5-24V DC system power supply. The 1769-IT6 module consumes a maximum current of 5 mA at 100 volts DC and 24 mA at 40 volts DC. When the input module is powered on and the channel is enabled, the input module performs automatic calibration. Automatic calibration can also be programmed to run every five minutes.

1769-IT6 is UL 508 certified, C-UL certified (according to CSA C22.2 No. 142), and complies with the CE standard of the applicable Directive. It can be connected to an adjacent I/O module or controller before or after installation (individual module replacement). To reduce electrical noise, install the measuring device at least two slots away from the AC power supply. When installed, maintain a minimum spacing gap of 210 inches on all sides for adequate ventilation.

The module is ideal for temperature applications as thermocouple instruments are specifically used for temperature measurement. In addition, millivolt signals are commonly used for interface sensors.

The module does not require an external power supply. It occupies a single slot in the chassis and receives 24VDC and <>VDC power from the communication bus.
