The 1756-A13 is an Allen-Bradley ControlLogix chassis. The chassis provides a module cover and 13 module slots for installing ControlLogix controllers and I/O modules. In addition to providing mounting slots, the chassis also hosts the electronic circuits that make up the backplane. The backplane distributes the current used by each module to motivate individual circuits to work properly.

1756-A13 Supports horizontal installation only. The minimum cabinet dimensions are 60.9 x 76.2 x 20.3 cm (24 x 30 x 8 inches) and the weight is 1.90 kg. It is mounted directly to the shell panel by providing mounting tabs located at the top and bottom of the chassis. The a series and B series chassis are installed at temperatures ranging from 0 to 60°C(32 to 140°F). The C series chassis are installed at temperatures ranging from -25 to +60°C(-13 to +140°F). Its operating vibration rating is 2 g @ 10... 500 Hz, working impact rating of 30 g. The chassis can be used with the Logix 5560, 5570 and 5580 product families.

The backplane current consumption of 1756-A13 is 1.5A@1.2VDC; 4a / 4a@ 3.3vdc; 15a / 6a@ 15a / 6a and 2.8A / 2.8A@ 24VDC. It has a power consumption of 5.4 watts and an open housing class.

The chassis midplane provides high-speed communication channels for each module in the chassis and distributes power to each module. It requires a Bulletin 1492 IFM or RTB to connect all field side wiring. The 1756-A13 standard chassis has a power supply Remove and Insert (RIUP) function for easy maintenance. To prevent replacement errors, it also provides an electronic key.
