Allen-Bradley 1746-OV8 is a digital I/O module for the SLC 500 system. It is a 24V DC output module with current sinking and has a wide range of applications. The 1746-OV8 module has an operating voltage of 10-50V DC (sink) and 8 outputs, 8 per common point. Its backplane current consumption is 135mA at 5V DC and 0mA at 24V DC. Its maximum signal delay is 0.1ms in the on state and 1ms in the off state. The 1746-OV8 has continuous currents of 1A and 8A per output and module at 30°C and 0.5A and 4A at 60°C, respectively. The maximum off-state leakage current is 1mA, and the maximum heat dissipation power is 6.9W. It has a maximum on-voltage drop of 1.2V at 1A and 3A and a maximum inrush current of 10ms at each point. The 1746-OV8 is also equipped with color-coded removable terminal blocks. Pre-wired cables and 1492 interface modules can be used to connect cables. The 1746-OV8 module has a jack-up clamp at the terminal and accepts up to two 14awg (2 mm2) wires. In order to display the status of I/O points, there are LED indicators on the front panel. The 1746-OV8 is suitable for clean and dry industrial environments with an operating temperature of 0-60 °C and a working impact of 30g.

There is no practical limit to the number of installed instances of this module. Users can use this module as needed to meet application requirements. The number of instances is limited only by the I/O supported by the processor or embedded memory. In addition, the number of racks and available slots may also limit the number of installed instances.
